PSM I certification tips

I have been working in Agile projects for 6 years now. Initially, during my 1st Agile project, I didn't like it with daily stand ups and updates. It just didn't tie up with the relax mindset I always had about the waterfall method, wherein you just wait for the “deadline” of a particular phase.

In fact I didn't even knew for the initial couple of months that I was working in Agile env and a framework called as Scrum. Gradually, I started to see the positive impact this had in the deliverables of the team and in particular my attitude towards work had changed. I was more conscious about my work and the tasks to be performed every day. I believe Agile has incorporated a more systematic approach in whatever work I do, be it Office or Personal.

I was recently asked to do PSM I certification as per clients requirement. I had already done CSM after getting into my first project, to get the details of Scrum. I was a part time SM in my last project in absence of the dedicated SM. And also I did PSPO I last year. So, I knew what I should expect in the exam.

I went through the Scrum guide couple of times and did some practice tests. With approx 85% in practice I was getting confident but I had read that consistent 95%+ is required before attempting the final. So I went through the guide again and this time I also mapped the question scenarios to my past projects. The result was consistent 90%+ scores in practice exams available on Udemy. Also I was getting 100% in scrum open assessment within 10 mins. I was set and took the exam after dinner (when my kids went to bed :D )

I completed all questions within 30 mins and had marked 20 for review. So 30 mins on those review questions and I was done just in time. Result was – 98.8% and now I am wondering which 1 question I got wrong :P
